Register Committee approves applications of two agencies

The first Register Committee (RC) meeting of 2025 took place online on 13 and 14 March.

The Register Committee discussed and took note of several change reports and eligibility applications and approved two applications for inclusion on the Register, finding that the following agencies operate in substantial compliance with the ESG:

  • AIC – Academic Information Centre (Latvia)
    AIC reports in DEQAR
  • ANVUR – Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes

The full decisions of the Register Committee are published on our website under register/decisions. The RC also discussed two important documents that are in progress:

  • Policy on the Transition to the Revised ESG in 2027
This document delves into various questions pertaining to the revision process and how to best accommodate agencies to give them sufficient time to adjust their processes in time for their external review and application for registration on EQAR.
  • Guiding Questions for Panels on external QA activities in development
This document is intended for external review panels that are reviewing activities within the scope of the ESG, that at the time of the site visit have not been launched yet, but are in a planning or pilot phase. These guiding questions serve as a possible aiding tool and are not obligatory for panels. Publication of the Guiding Questions for Panels is expected imminently under about/official documents/other.

The Committee also took note of the latest discussions regarding the ESG revision process. EQAR’s input to the revision process will heavily rely on the technical expertise of the Register Committee and experience accumulated over the last 17 years within this independent expert body responsible for maintaining the official register of QA agencies that comply with the ESG.

The next Register Committee meeting will take place in Brussels on 26-27 June.
