Report summary
FZAB has started the implementation of higher vocational physiotherapy course at the first
level in the academic year 2018-2019. It does not have a concession for the
implementation of the study program, but it implements it as a full-time and part-time
study program. The study process is carried out in Jesenice and in the dislocated unit in
Ljubljana. The study program is conducted also by experts from practice with appropriate
habilitation. Cabinets are adequately equipped, equipment and supplies of greater value
are transferred from site to site.
The study program is meaningfully upgraded and ensures vertical development of students'
professional competencies. During this period, there have been only minor changes in
individual subjects at the suggestion of a teacher or the students. Initiatives for change
are given at the Chair of Physiotherapy and will be taken into account in the comprehensive
analysis of studies after the completion of the study program for two generations, ie in
2022-2023.
In view of the proclamation of the epidemic COVID -19 in the academic years 2019-2020
and 2020-2021, the FZAB adapted the implementation of the pedagogical process and
conducted lectures and seminars in distance learning, as well as examinations, cabinet
exercises and clinical training in contact with patients when the epidemiological situation
allowed it. Students adapted to the requirements of the teaching institutions, were
regularly tested and some even vaccinated. Clinical training takes place in health, social
and other specialized institutions and is led by mentors who must meet certain
requirements (education, professional experience, participation in a school for mentors).
The mentors evaluate the acquired competences of the students according to well-defined
criteria.
Both students and college teachers needed the help of support services in implementing
the pedagogical process through the online platform, and teachers increased the number
of tutoring meetings for students. The quality of work and satisfaction of all those involved
in the implementation of the study program is determined by the FZAB through a survey,
and the results are published in the evaluation reports for each academic year. These
findings should be communicated to all stakeholders through the members of individual
FZAB bodies.
FZAB will begin the full modernization of the study program after the completion of the
training of two generations of students at the end of the academic year 2022-2023.
