Summary
Report summary
The report on the change of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences Slovenj Gradec, with a focus on the establishment of a dislocated unit in Ptuj, covers the assessment of the institution's compliance with quality standards at the proposed dislocated unit. The findings of the expert group on meeting the standards are highlighted, with particular attention paid to premises and equipment, adjustments for students with disabilities, financial resource provision, and library services. The same group of experts concurrently evaluated the extension of accreditation of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences Slovenj Gradec along with the assessment of the dislocated unit. The expert group found that the premises in Ptuj are suitably equipped for the educational process but emphasized the need for further investments in equipment for laboratory exercises, especially for the Physiotherapy and Nursing study programs. The location in the city center offers good accessibility and connectivity to other infrastructure. The institution will make adjustments for students with various forms of disabilities, as the same institution (Ptuj Adult Education Centre) also has another location nearby, where the educational process can be carried out in such cases. The institution has appropriately planned and stable financial resources for the next four years, ensuring smooth operation and goal realization. Library services are satisfactory, with access to extensive materials and professional journals through collaboration with the local library. The faculty meets the set quality standards in these respects, thereby also opening opportunities for the highlighted further improvements. -

Summary
Report summary
The report on the re-accreditation of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences Slovenj Gradec (FHSS SG) thoroughly outlines the evaluation process of the entire institution conducted by experts appointed by the National Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Quality in Higher Education. The report was compiled based on a review of extensive documentation, self-evaluation reports, and discussions with key stakeholders of the institution. The strategic plan for 2022-2027 aligns with the faculty's vision and reflects a commitment to principles of employability, internationalization, quality, and mobility. However, the strategic plan is not publicly available on the faculty's website, highlighting a need for greater transparency as key stakeholders are not informed about it. The internal organization of FHSS SG enables the inclusion of all stakeholders in the management and development of the institution's activities. Regular meetings of certain committees, such as the disciplinary committee, are suggested to maintain readiness and the institution's commitment to adhering to the highest ethical principles. FHSS SG has made progress in the field of scientific, professional, and research activities, focusing on applied research in clinical environments with active student involvement. Research performance, measured by the ARIS methodology, shows a high level of achievement, although the faculty ranks last among comparable institutions, which should be viewed in a broader context. There is a clear need to increase the number of research- active staff with doctoral degrees in the research group or to encourage younger researchers to engage in scientific activities. Practical education is well organized, emphasizing the importance of clinical training in achieving professional competencies and following guidelines for regulated professions. The faculty has established a wide network of learning institutions for clinical training, but improvements are suggested in systematically closing the quality loop through a structured process leading to actionable improvement plans. FHSS SG actively collaborates with the environment and employers, providing information on employment opportunities that match the competencies of its graduates. The need for further development of "relational competencies" to improve interdisciplinary cooperation is highlighted. The internal quality assurance system is in place, but a more systematic and documented approach is needed for collecting and analysing feedback. The faculty's efforts in the professional and personal development of teaching and non-teaching staff are recognized, but there is a need for systematic planning of training and other professional development activities in this area. The expert group assesses that FHSS SG meets the quality standards in various areas with identified opportunities for improvement in its operations. Additionally, the expert group notes that the institution could better utilize events such as the re-accreditation for the institution/study programs to review the quality system and some work processes more thoroughly, and to approach the content and structural supplements of the important parts of the evaluated study programs more consistently. In response to the report (April 18, 2024), FHSS SG has accepted the proposed improvements and has already begun to implement some of them. -

Summary
Report summary
The external evaluation report of the study program at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences Slovenj Gradec evaluates two study programs: Nursing at the first level and Health and Social Sciences at the second level. A group of experts, appointed by the National Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Quality in Higher Education, assessed the quality of both programs based on submitted documents, self-evaluation reports and a visit to the institution. The institution regularly publishes self-evaluation reports, which are crucial for the development and updating of study programs, although it was observed that the quality management system operates in a fragmented manner and sometimes the quality loop closure is not executed. A need for a thorough review of the quality management system and the development of more transparent methods for its presentation was highlighted. Information for improving study programs is collected in various ways, but there is a need for better documentation of these processes and greater involvement of teaching staff. The study programs are in line with European standards and societal needs, although it was found that the Nursing program at the first level could improve its selectivity and update its curricula. The second-level program in Health and Social Sciences would need a content overhaul, as the study directions are not specific enough. In the implementation of study programs, the institution is student-oriented, with some study obligations conducted remotely, despite the institution not having accreditation for such a form of study. Innovations in assessment and the qualification of staff that ensure the quality of education were observed. The tutoring system is appropriately established, but it would be beneficial to better document its operation. Practical education is well organized, especially in the area of clinical training in the Nursing program. The institution is recognized for its network of educational institutions and its student-centered approach. However, the need for didactical equipment updates and improvements in study literature and the methodology of student surveys was pointed out. The study programs meet quality standards, although opportunities for further improvements are highlighted. In response to the report (April 18, 2024), Faculty of Health and Social Sciences Slovenj Gradec (FHSS SG) has accepted the proposed improvements and has already begun to implement some of them. -
