Information on the agency's work

The Agency for Quality of the Basque University System (Unibasq - Agencia de Calidad del Sistema Universitario Vasco) was created in 2004 and its objective is the evaluation, accreditation and certification of quality in the area of the Basque University System, while taking the Spanish and international framework into account.

External quality assurance activities in the scope of the ESG:
  • Ex-ante evaluation of new study programmes, which serves as a basis for approval by the Basque government of the new programme;
  • Follow-up and monitoring of official degree programmes;
  • Ex-post evaluation of official programmes (i.e. re-accreditation);
  • Voluntary evaluation of new “titolos propios” study programmes;
  • Reviews of the fulfillment of performance agreements between the Basque government and universities;
  • Audits of internal quality assurance systems of faculties (AUDIT, shared programme with ANECA, AQU and ACSUG);
