Can higher education institutions choose a suitable EQAR-registered agency?

Yes, but it's limited to programme accreditation:

  • Condition for the agency's work (e.g. criteria to be used): QA agencies have to follow the Lithuanian study programme methodology in carrying out the assessment (include a grading scale of six different evaluations areas: programme aims and learning outcomes, curriculum design, teaching staff, facilities and learning resources, study process and students' performance assessment, and programme management).
  • Further information/regulations: Methodology and Procedure for the external evaluation and accreditation of study programmes”, issued by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania from 2009 (revision of Order No. V-1487, of 29 July 2011) and Bologna National Report (2015).

Can HEIs employ the European Approach for the Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes?
