Are you interested in working for a European public-interest organisation in the field of quality assurance of higher education? We are a small team offering a dynamic and international workplace, closely linked to current policy developments in the Bologna Process and European cooperation in higher education.

EQAR is the official register of quality assurance agencies that have demonstrated substantial compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG). An organisation in the public interest, EQAR promotes transparency, trust and international recognition. EQAR is governed and funded jointly by European governments and stakeholder organisations.

Database Officer Part time 50% (possible extension to full-time) Location: Brussels

Main responsibilities:

Your main task will be the setup and maintenance of a database of external quality assurance results, i.e. quality assurance reports and decisions by the EQAR-registered agencies. This includes:
  • Liaising with the contractor(s) for software implementation
  • Drafting user guides and promotional material
  • Liaising with EQAR-registered quality assurance agencies
  • Maintaining the data managed by EQAR itself
  • Handling data flagged for manual intervention
In addition, you will be involved in other tasks of the EQAR Secretariat as far as workload permits.

Your profile:

  • Good general IT skills and basic understanding of technical concepts; specific experience with database design or web applications is an asset
  • Keen interest in the Bologna Process and European developments in higher education policy
  • Outstanding organisational and communication skills
  • Excellent oral and written command of English
  • Experience with working in a European or international environment
